Bioinformatics Community Conference 2020

BCC2020 is a combination of two existing international conferences: the Bioinformatics Open Source Conference, hosted by the Open Bioinformatics Foundation, and the Galaxy Community Conference, hosted by Galaxy. In consideration of the ongoing spread of COVID-19, the conference will be held online to allow the international bioinformatics community to share and discuss their work in an engaging and very affordable way.

Online delivery opened the opportunity to embrace multiple locations (and many timezones!). BCC2020 events will be held twice: once in their original (Toronto) timezone and 12 hours later for the eastern hemisphere (which includes Australia). Australian BioCommons and Galaxy Australia and have taken the lead on organising "BCC East" to ensure this a truly global event.

Live online training will be offered on July 19-20 in the Eastern hemisphere. You can register for individual sessions to learn using online platforms for hands-on training. There is currently a call out for potential trainers from Australia, Asia or Oceania to submit their ideas for training their peers.  The main meeting will be held July 20-22 in the East. This will include talks, posters, demos, and birds-of-a-feather - hopefully spanning both hemispheres.

Registrations are now open.
