Australian Reference Genome Atlas
The Australian Reference Genome Atlas (ARGA) pilot project has now concluded.
As a first-of-its kind prototype, including tools such as Genome Tracker, ARGA made whole genomes more discoverable, accessible and interpretable through a range of filters and views, providing new insights into the availability of genomic data for Australian species.
The ARGA project advanced national and international conversations about ongoing efforts to sequence the genomes of the world’s biodiversity, with ARGA, including Genome Tracker, reaching users from 117 countries.
Open-access software, documentation and other project artefacts remain available through ARGA’s GitHub repository and OSF project page.
ARGA was an NCRIS-enabled platform powered by the Atlas of Living Australia, operated in collaboration with Bioplatforms Australia and Australian BioCommons, with investment from Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC).
