Cohosting events with Australian BioCommons

We regularly support community members to organise and host events related to digital life science. Where there is a demonstrable benefit to life scientists and bioinformaticians, we assist colleagues to reach a national or international audience with their activities. To ensure the quality of each event, we work intensively with our event partners in all aspects of organisation.

Support can include:

  • assistance with content creation

  • advice on bioinformatics training best practice

  • sourcing of expert facilitators

  • collection and management of registration and evaluation data

  • hosting and logistics of live online and in-person events

  • provisioning of compute resources

  • advertisement via extensive networks

  • capture and sharing of events according to FAIR principles

We deliver training and public events of a consistently high standard, in line with international best practice and our funding obligations.

Australian BioCommons events must:

  • collect detailed data on attendance (in line with our privacy statement)

  • be recorded and made public on the Australian BioCommons YouTube channel along with the artefacts shared via the public Documents or Training Materials repositories (subject to negotiation)

  • adhere to the Australian BioCommons code of conduct to create an inclusive and respectful environment.
