FORUM: Connections in computational proteomics

The forum is now complete. Read the forum report.

Join us for an interactive, face-to-face forum dedicated to computational proteomics!

Australian BioCommons is uniting proteomics experts with Australian researchers, bioinformaticians and service providers at “Connections in computational proteomics”.

Taking place in the lead up to Lorne Proteomics 2024, this forum is a dedicated space to discuss challenges in computational proteomics, explore interactive analysis tools and get an exclusive preview of the Galaxy Australia Proteomics Lab. The forum will take place in Melbourne to make it easy for those travelling to Lorne Proteomics, but everyone is welcome to attend this free event.

The forum includes opportunities for researchers, bioinformaticians and service providers to:

  • Contribute to expert-led strategic discussions on resolving challenges in computational proteomics

  • Learn about best practice interactive tools for proteomics, get your questions answered and help inform a national response to make these tools broadly available

  • Learn from invited experts and ask them anything

  • Get started with Galaxy Australia for proteomics

  • Preview the Galaxy Australia Proteomics Lab

  • Hear about the Australian BioCommons Proteomics Bioinformatics Community journey to date

  • Network with other proteomics researchers and computational proteomics specialists

Format

This in-person forum will take place over two half-day sessions.

Lunch will be provided on Day 1 and refreshments will be available on both days.

There is an open invitation to join the organisers for dinner on Tue 30 Jan at your own expense.

Date / time

Tue 30 Jan, 12 - 5 pm AEDT and Wed 31 Jan, 9 - 11 am AEDT (wrapping up in time to catch the bus to Lorne Proteomics)

Location

Melbourne Bioinformatics, 21 Bedford St, North Melbourne, Victoria.

Who should come

Researchers, bioinformaticians, senior scientists/principal investigators, service providers and anyone actively involved in computational proteomics and bioinformatics.

How to join

The forum is free to join but will have limited spaces. Registration is essential and on a first-come-first-served basis. If you have any accessibility requirements, please email comms@biocommons.org.au.
