BioCommons Access for Galaxy Australia and Bioplatforms Australia Data Portal Users
From 26 March 2026, Galaxy Australia and the Bioplatforms Australia Data Portal will use a new login: BioCommons Access.
BioCommons Access will become your key to analysis services and research data across the Australian BioCommons ecosystem. It provides a simpler, more secure way to access multiple services with a single login — and introduces powerful new features like service bundles.
The following information is relevant if you were a registered user of the Bioplatforms Australia Data Portal or Galaxy Australia before 9 am AEDT 25 March 2026 (registrations after this time will automatically have a BioCommons Access account). To keep using these services, you will need to migrate to BioCommons Access.
migration: what you need to do - summary
1. Watch your email (make sure you have access to the email that is associated with your account)
Current users will receive a reminder email in the week before launch with final details. You should update your email now if you are unsure or unable to access your registered email to ensure you can complete the migration seamlessly and promptly.
2. Plan for a shutdown period
Galaxy Australia and the Bioplatforms Australia Data Portal will be unavailable from 9 am 25 March to 9 am 26 March 2026 AEDT.
3. Log in from 26 March 2026
Use your existing credentials the first time you log in after launch. If you previously used AAF to log in, you’ll receive a password reset email on 25 March.
4. Reset your password
You’ll be prompted to validate your email address and set a new BioCommons Access password. You then need to log in with your new password to complete the migration process.
